And this $40 event supports the Phoenix Public Market’s efforts to help low-income families buy fresh locally-grown fruits and vegetables and bring healthy, nutritious and delicious food to local school cafeterias. Wednesday Market: Join Laura’s Gourmet for a tasting of their delicious natural granolas and Blackbird Naturals for samples of their raw organic truffles inside the Urban Grocery tonight! Frank Banuelos will be doing a tai-chi demonstration, including sword cutting this Wednesday evening and Saturday morning. Crazy Cajun Spice Company, Wei of Chocolate, Arizona Homegrown Solutions Community Exchange Table, Maya’s Farm and One Windmill Farm are just some of the other vendors’ offerings tonight outdoors. Plus Chef Wade will have the grill going with burgers cooked the way you like them (Double Check beef, Bread Basket buns) with a side of his roasted potato salad! Saturday Market – Summer hours start May 1 – 8 a.m. – Noon! Music is by Ron Bowen! The Market welcomes potter Jack Meharian. Wisdom Nectar has refreshing coconut drinks, lemonade and steamed veggie or pork buns. Poppa Maize has many flavors of fresh popped corn to sample and nibble…Luminous glass art and jewelry has some gorgeous selections to choose from. SaturdayMay 15 – United Blood Services will host a Blood Drive at the Market! Donors can set their own appointments by logging into www.BloodHero.com. Click on the desired state then click on “Donate Blood” link on the right side of the screen. Your drive can be found by entering the sponsor code of: “PhxPublicMarket” Previous donors will need to log in using the donor ID number located on their donor card. This way, donors can see their history of appointments, donations and cholesterol results. New donors will need to create a temporary profile. Click on “Make an appointment now” to the right of “Not yet a United Blood Services donor?” Enter your name and date of birth. This is a one-time use only profile. Wednesday May 19 – Breakfast for Dinner at Scramble – Ste 1, 9832 North 7th Street, Phoenix: The doors will open at 5 pm and this fundraiser to benefit the Market goes until 8 pm.
